And Then There Were None - book review

And only after one has read it, they can understand why we binge read it!
"And Then There Were None" was the first for me from the genre of mystery. The writer needs no special mention, famously known as queen of mystery, Agatha Christie is one of the esteemed minds for crime fictions. This was a 'good to start with' book.

The story is based in the settings of a deserted land named soldier Island (you'll know why) and it begins with ten strangers being invited there, by an 'unknown' guest who is mysteriously absent (or maybe not).
The mutual fact however was that they all were accused of some crime whether or not they were guilty of it. Each guest had a macabre nursery rhyme displayed in their rooms. The rhyme was basically the plot of the story that briefly narrated how the things shall take place in further course, but was so obvious to be neglected by all but one.
The china figures were the cherry on the cake a suspense thriller!

The writing was strong enough to hold the readers till the last word of the book (do not read the last words until you're done).
It was enthralling to witness how the events uncovered and that question was a constant throughout- 'who is the next?' And the end shall venture you through the levels of insanity and the outcome would obviously be the one you never thought of.

The visuals were so clear that the readers might feel that they are just other person on the island watching the drama from a frame (I literally dropped the book on some lines).
Irrespective of the size of the book the writer could very well justify each character and their emotional conflict mixed with the pyschological trauma. The most engaging part for me was to see how the entire plot was connected to the rhyme. Ironically it was all known but couldn't be predicted.

The writer was successful in building a thrill that kept on switching the conclusions until we reach it! Personally I enjoyed this read and would recommend it to those who haven't yet tried mysterious fictions.

P.S. if possible try this in one day for it would be difficult to sleep in suspense ; )
