The Perfect Dinner

At 9 in the evening the notification pops up- Rutuja, it’s time for dinner, tell us what you want! It’s not customary you see, to be cared and when the question was worth thinking about, it was good for power to go off for a little walk and enjoy the last pieces of it’s cheesecake brownie.   I was still stuck on starters! My cravings for a while had been too demanding, wanted too much on a plate all at once.  Ammm… How about some corn and cheese quesadillas, finely baked in LOVE and topped with fresh green cilantro; scintillating smiles, I had been missing for a while. And what better if served with maybe some sustenance in a plate that could spare for a little more pieces of PEACE.  The main course called for something healthy and burritos seemed to be just fine. Loaded with vegetables and bell pepper, smoothly sautéd in PATIENCE with black beans and brown rice. This could be made more palatable when augmented with pinch of FAITH and GRATITUDE in the tortillas with ...

Elemental

Image
Love transcends space and time and “Elements”.   For nothing is as good or as bad as it seems because what would have been thought as a disaster can turn out to be a spectacular blithe. Touring through the Element city might not take us back to the chemistry lab but we’ll surely reminisce the time when animation was the best genre and fantasy was pre eminent. To show something beyond our world we need something beyond humans- hence it is!  And what happens when two mutually exclusive elements- Fire and Water comes together? Well, Elemental is the dramatisation of this very imagination. Fire girl’s anger has put her in trouble. Dreams are at stake and sacrifice is to be honoured. So someone has to come to rescue her and flame her up for seeing what true sacrifice is for!   It’s enthralling to witness the deep thought execution of the creators and how they visualised this beautiful story with a setting as picturesque as a literal heaven and characters as re...

Constellations

Image
“Twinkle twinkle little star  I so much wonder what you are  Up above the world so high Like a mystery, but answering the reason to its why!” I look upto to the sky, not in the anticipation of it clinching my most deep desires but this time to connect the dots, or better the stars.  The first star I see in the sky is Sirius, I reckon it to be my grandmother. It’s the most incandescent of all and it’s sending its light to me to tell that “if you’re the brightest, you don’t need to assert it, just be wherever you are and keep spreading your light.” Ophiuchus is the rarest to be seen and so was my grandfather. Papa is the shield of the Orion, for he protects me from the evils of the sky. And from wherever I’d look up, he shall always be found.    Mumma plays Ursa Major and my brother plays the minor version. They might not well represent Callisto and her son, but they shall always stay together, not to forget, with the courtesy of Zeus. Well, I can be their ...

You are(n’t) the centre

Image
The first theory about earth and its position in the universe said that earth is at the centre and every other object revolves around it, including the sun. There wasn’t a solid evidence just a logic- it was only our planet known to breed life.  Thanks to the brilliance of Copernicus that swayed away the delusion. We don’t make the centre. We are just another planet revolving around sun, implying that everything isn’t for us, neither does it always happen for us.   Later in time comes Giordano Bruno who proposes the cosmos to be infinite. We can’t perceive all of it as time and space has its own restrictions.  Philosophers then gave it a thought that- “Total distance in each direction from wherever we are as of now is infinite, so basically we are at the centre of everything.” And all these theories for some other physicist to say that there exists no centre! Hence,  You are(n’t) the centre! The brackets here are just your thoughts.

She and me

Image
She and me  We are generations apart  But what we share is something that doesn’t need a bridge to commute. Of course “Love transcends space and time. If you don’t understand this you can least trust it.”  She and me  She is the soul of the walls I call home and I’m mere bricks. When everything around shreds the wall apart the soul has the potency to keep it together.  She and me  She knows me inside out and I know her outside being too strong than her inside.  I know when she’s hurt and she knows when I’m hungry  She and me Our telepathy is paranormal. She is always caring for me and I’m always crying for her  She and me She teaches the values I carry and I gave her the childhood she missed. She has stories to narrate but I can only make mistakes to be forgiven.  She and me  Well, it isn’t she and me but it’s Us. Two souls in two bodies with exchanged hearts. She rests in my mind and I in her lap Me  I don’t want a Time...

The Map of tiny perfect things

Image
Temporal anomaly:   What if time started running in a circular form rather than going in a straight line, there would technically be no other day and all activities will be repeated everyday as it never happened before. Another twist in the story shall be its exception. What if you know that it’s a temporal anomaly going on and you are not bound by it. That is you have a free will and you can change your routine everyday, but everything else remains the same.  The biggest question here shall be: who’s the one sleeping?  It could be others because they don’t know that they’ve been doing it for like thousandth time, maybe like sleep walking  Or it could be you who’s living the same day for like thousandth time whereas everyone gets a new day to live.  And could anything be fixed? Nope.  It will be broken again tomorrow.  But what about the perfect things happened that day.  Those tiny perfect things.  You can certainly enjoy them, maybe ...

Murder on the Orient Express- book review

Image
A famous piece from the genre of mystery by even more famous writer Agatha Christie- Murder on the Orient Express is an incident that happens on a train the Orient Express running across Europe for three days and the renowned detective Hercule Poirot who happens to be on the train takes charge of it. Twelve passengers travelling in a wagon where one is mysteriously killed in a locked room with no where to escape. The suspicion is in the air and the investigation begins. Killer has to be one of them. But who?  It’s remarkable how the writer uses her ingenuity to build so many characters with their entire sketch in mere 250 pages. Moreover the incident has to happen in just one setting and in one time period. “All around us are people, of all classes, of all nationalities, of all ages. In this journey these people, these strangers to one another, are brought together.” This was because it wasn’t any ordinary travel.  And with their different nationalities they have differ...

Coco

Image
Another masterpiece by Pixar Animation Studio- Coco is a beautiful story based in Mexican setting of a boy named Miguel and his ties with his family, living and dead and his adventure. All that for his love for music.  Music literally connects the souls (skeletons here) but how it does- is the movie about. Miguel’s family have had a history with music for which they regarded it as a curse and our little boy is a rebel who travels beyond our world to save his love.  The twist in the plot isn’t easy to catch and you’ll definitely love this for it.  “One cannot deny, who one is meant to be.” Even if your family denies your destiny remember, it would be just them you can rebound your curse.  The playfulness, the music, the story, the characters and the climax makes it more than just an animation- a treat to watch. Death is no end it shows, there’s a beautiful life- Afterlife where we all shall reunite and stay until our memories are swayed. And also that the Justice is d...

Tom and Jerry

Do you know why in a race between Tom and Jerry, it was always Jerry who made the cut. A waggish but probable answer would be- “The show must go on!”  But if we flip the coin to see the other side we would see that there is a reason to it! A reason with a lesson indeed. Tom always ran for just his one time meal while Jerry ran for his life. You see; the intension matters.  The precious the thing is at stake the harder we try to secure it. (Might be an exception to less is more theory;)  I think even the reward system works on this principle. We are designed in a way to answer the rewards. The higher its intrinsic value the tough is the task to back it and if equally hard we persist to fight we Win. So if we don’t only focus on how hard we are trying but if also we realise how dearly we want the reward, we might effortlessly travel one step ahead.  But our breath is not the only reward though, maybe a smile be an equally exquisite one. But again everything adds up to ...

Predestination Paradox

Image
Predestination paradox-  What is destined to happen shall happen, whether you have a Time Machine or not if it is a predestination paradox. It’s basically a loop wherein the start and end cannot be determined as the event that follows is only the result of what just happened. And those things are just ‘inevitable’.  Remember the episode where doraemon and nobita went into past to find the culprit of a crime and get completely baffled to see the faces of those who’ve done it. Predestination is the same story with intense character(s) and from multiple time stamps and that it doesn’t come by easily like this episode. It is after it all ends that you will start sequencing it.  So even if I get a Time Machine and I go on to change something, I might be the only reason to let that happen in first place, because somethings are just ‘inevitable’.  “Don’t mess with time”, it says, “time travel can be disorienting”. Because truth can be stranger than fiction. “You are ...

Quid pro quo

Image
‘Something in return’.  It is a component of a valid contract and is no exception when it comes to exceptions. I can only guess, but I think this concept took birth after humans invented greed. Otherwise how was it possible to distribute the resources in first place. To be able to give something away meant you need to have something before and so suddenly what was ours became what is yours and what is mine. And when I was not satisfied with what I have, I started asking for yours and you were no saint to give that up easily so you took something that was mine, hence quid pro quo.  Well, the story started simple, we had a barter, for the one who invented money was yet to be born. You wanted apple and I wanted some wheat. Life was easy. But only until you changed your demand. Various things came into picture, in order to settle a transactions- metals, coins, barley and even cigarettes (yes, it’s true) then we agreed upon an imagined order hence came money. It was soon tak...
